1) Edit "Recent news" in the News view
2) Click "Date" and select the "Truncated" date format.

1) In the edit dialouge for date click "Date and time settings"
2) Click the "Formats" tab and click "Add format"
3) In the format string field type "M d"
4) Under "Types" click "add date type"
5) For "Date type" name it "Truncated"
6) For "Date Format" select the previously added "M d" format
3) Move "Date" field above "Title" and save
4) On the home page click "Edit panel"
5) Under the region news should be added to click the gear and click "Add content"
6) Click the "Views" tab. A list of available views to select from will appear. Click "News"
7) Select "Recent news" from the dropdown box and save
8) Click the gear for "View: News: Recent News" and click "CSS Settings"
9) Under "CSS Class" type "standard-block blue"
-Note: Standard block multiple variations depending on the theme used for inception. The options are :
-blue
-violet
-gold
-grey
10) Click update and save
